“Stop Ghosting Your Self, Baby!”
Write your commitment vows to your own goddamn life, art, heart & badass self for 2026
Yeh. You know exactly what I speak of, don’t you sweet pea?!
Heading off into the wild unknown but leaving oneself behind.
Getting all up close & personal with some va va vroom adventuring and realising you’ve abandoned yourself.
Or how about, setting off into your ‘best year ever, dude’, yet derailing because somehow you have gone awol and you didn’t even notice!
Look, being ghosted is a fucker. I’m not immune to such temperamental mental mentalities. I’ve been there. Seen the ghost. Got the T-shirt.
The thing is, what we don’t seem to realise is that we dream and desire and dare and all that hand-job jazz, and yet, we do so whilst the big boss CEO, i.e. your own brilliant genius self, is missing.
How do you know you’ve gone and ghosted yourself?
Oooops!
Recognise any of the following symptoms?
• You are not clear. Instead, you’re finding making decisions cloudy and confusing.
• You burn out. Fast. Overwhelm and it’s plaything, exhaustion, do a number on you
• You’re not ‘in’ your own life. Like, you’re observing it all as if you’re watching it on a screen.
• You scramble. A lot.
• It’s all a little bit too hustle-y, isn’t it? Far too much effort and low ROI. Bugger.
• You don’t feel terribly in your power, right?!
• You’re super sensitive, get irritated easily, and are far too concerned with what they think.
• You’re living from the outside in, rather than the inside out.
• You certainly don’t feel very playful.
• And, vitally, you can’t seem to stretch beyond where you are now without springing back and whacking yourself, metaphorically speaking darling, in the face. Hmmmmm.
Look. We all do it. there’s nothing wrong. And yet. What does the following sound like for you?
You are in absolute adoring devotion to your own inner mistress (or master). You don’t panic. Or rush. You’re on your time honey. When you do take action, you do so whilst staying in your own self. You feel a sense of substance. A gravitas. A sensual embodied sass. And you definitely feel expansive and empowered. You remain close to yourself and seek wise council within when necessary. You’re crystal decanter clear and have no issue with saying ‘No’ or ‘Yes’ when perhaps before you would feel worried or anxious about what would others’ think. You are more present. More still. More there for those you love and for what you love. You can steer yourself with skill. And you are able to learn how to take risks that don’t leave you without an inner parachute. That is, you feel more ‘safe’ as you blossom and bloom into all aspects of your life*
To live from the inside out is key in the world we live in these days with distractions everywhere, including in our own pocket. When we live from the inside out, we hear our own guidance, wisdom and those intuitive nudges that become the compass for our lives. It’s as if we’re in a relationship with our own sweet self that honours, respects, listens and guides us. Whether you call this part your soul, inner genius, wild nature, Barbara or Bob, there’s no getting away from the fact that there’s something profoundly mysterious steering our ship.
(*Of course, I’m not guaranteeing that you’re living fully and wholly like this after one writing workshop. Of course not. But what I am clear about, is how much your life becomes incredibly rich, satisfying, true and enjoyable, when you’re home in yourself. And of course, if you want to go further on this journey, well, you’re very welcome to come join The 8% Club! creative membership. But for now, this is the perfect start.)
“Stop Ghosting Your Self, Baby! Write your commitment vows to your own goddamn life, art, heart & badass self for 2026”, is an opportunity to play with creating vows to ourselves as we slowly, slowly, inch into a new year. Forget resolutions, a new me, and all that bullshit. Starting from inside out not only allows us clarity and empowerment, but also invites our attention, intention and commitment to who we are, and who we’re becoming and growing into.
This forms the foundation stone for building a life. One that’s deeply seeped in what is meaningful to us. And what requires our love. Whether that’s a relationship, our body, our business, friendships, family, money, sex, body, heart, or whatever else is asking for your commitment this year.
We’ll explore some of the ways that writers have expressed this love – for it is love itself that moves the pen – and then we will create our own vows for 2026, including those for ourselves, our loved ones, our creative path, and more.
Finally, we will hold a ‘marriage ceremony’ where we get the privilege of witnessing and being witnessed. This ritual supports the integration of our words to ourselves.
All are welcome.
